Behind every medication that rheumatology patients rely on today, there is a patient who raised their hand and said yes. Yes to being monitored closely. Yes to trying something new. Yes to contributing to science that would outlast their own treatment.
We are currently enrolling for studies in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout. You do not need to be newly diagnosed or currently unmanaged. Many participants are already receiving treatment and simply want access to emerging options or the satisfaction of contributing to medical progress.
What to Expect as a Research Patient:
- A thorough review of your health history before any decision is made
- More frequent check-ins and closer monitoring than standard care
- No cost for study-related visits, labs, and medications
- Compensation for your time and travel
- The ability to withdraw at any time, for any reason, without affecting your regular care
Research Does Not Replace Your Care: Joining a study at OAOC does not change your relationship with your rheumatologist. You continue your regular appointments and treatment plan. Our research coordinators work alongside your care team, not instead of them.
Your Regular Care Stays Exactly the Same: Participating in research does not mean giving up your current treatment. You continue seeing your regular rheumatologist, and the research team works alongside your existing providers every step of the way.
